PRODUCT FEATURES
"The Japanese Bridge (The Water-Lily Pond, Symphony in Rose)" (1899) reminds of the work of Kameido Tenjin (1856), but Monet uses bright colors, reflections, refraction of light.
Monet considers the greatest achievement of his Water Garden in Giverny. It drains the marsh that was there and through a canal system brought water from the nearby river, creating a lake. Above the lake, a Japanese-style bridge with white and purple flowers rises. The garden is surrounded by weeping willows and tapestry tufts.
